Spiritual Direction

Spiritual direction is the traditional and customary term for what I prefer to call spiritual accompaniment or spiritual companionship.

It is the opportunity to meet and speak with another person regarding your personal faith journey. It is a sacred time and space to share and discuss your spiritual life. Bill offers one-on-one spiritual direction in the Ignatian and Contemplative traditions. Generally, spiritual direction meetings last one hour on a monthly basis although other schedules are possible. While spiritual direction usually takes place in person, it can also be done online through videoconferencing such as Zoom or FaceTime.

Bill is a member of Spiritual Directors International. His training is from the Haden Institute in North Carolina, Fordham University, and the Graduate Theological Foundation. He currently serves as a mentor-faculty member of the Haden Institute and on the faculty of the Ignatian Spirituality Institute at John Carroll University.

“It may be that when we no longer know what to do we have come to our real work, and that when we no longer know which way to go we have come to our real journey.” – Wendell Berry

I accompany women and men, young and old, those of certain faith and those unsure – all those who seek with an open and honest heart.
